WAREHOUSE
Warehouse is a meditative ethnographic short film exploring the sensory landscape of a carpenter’s workshop.
Filmed within a warehouse inhabited by tools, materials, gestures, and rhythms of labour, the work attends to the often-overlooked relationships between people, objects, and space. Wood, metal, dust, and machinery emerge not merely as elements of production but as active presences, each carrying its own texture, resonance, and temporal rhythm.
Without dialogue, Warehouse unfolds through close observation and attentive listening. Combining detailed imagery with an immersive soundscape, the film invites viewers into a sensory encounter with the material world and the quiet poetics of everyday labour.
Production Context
Warehouse was developed within Optakus, a multi-sited artistic research laboratory initiated by S. Buse Yıldırım, Constantinos Diamantis, Malwa Grabowska, and Lillian Dam Bracia. Bringing together experimental and ethnographic approaches to filmmaking, the collective explored the sensory and spatial possibilities of sound and image through collaborative field-based practices.
